The Ultimate Fall Bucket List

I know I know, I can’t believe it’s pretty much fall either – but it is! So even if you’re in San Diego like me where it still feels like summer or if you’re somewhere cooler and have those leaves crunching under your feet, it’s time to switch. As a self-proclaimed, and very proud cheugy millennial (who’s with me?!), you bet I’m drinking nothing but PSLs/pumpkin cream cold brews through the entire season. So light up your pumpkin candle, grab your crockpot, and cozy fall sweaters because here’s everything you need to do this fall season.

2021 Fall Bucket List

Swap out to your fall wardrobe

I don’t know about you but there’s something about comfy leggings and sweaters, that gets me so excited for fall.

I’ve rounded up some great fall fashion *shop here* to give your closet a new piece or two from Amazon here.

Give your home a cozy makeover

It is the cozy season after all! An easy place to start is to trade out your summer sheets for warmer ones and get a new cozy throw (an excuse to head to Target or Home Goods). I also try to incorporate more candles (the more, the merrier!) and add cinnamon oils to my essential oil diffuser rotation. Here are some of my favorite fall decor on Amazon.

Go apple picking

Is there anything more festive than going apple picking? I love putting on a flannel (again cheugy millennial) and wandering through the apple orchards to find the perfect apples. Of course, it’s always best to come home and make a fresh apple pie.

Go to a pumpkin patch

OKAY, I lied – pumpkin patches are the epitome of fall so be sure to expect pure autumnal bliss at this forever fall favorite. Don’t forget to grab some apple cider donuts and apple cider while you’re there.

Make one of fall’s highly crock pot recipes

I know I love a good soup or really anything that’s made in the crockpot. I could spend hours on Pinterest drooling over recipes – the cooler weather is the perfect excuse with no special occasion necessary.

Raid the Trader Joe’s fall section

This is arguably one of my favorite times of the year at Trader Joe’s – from pumpkin bread, to pumpkin cookies, to pumpkin everything. I just love it! Want some ideas? Here are my favorite fall items at Trader Joe’s and if you want to take it to the next level, I made a fall harvest charcuterie board with majority of the items from Trader Joe’s, check it out!

Go leaf peeping

Now nowhere in the world (that I know of) has been fall foliage than New England, so if you’re in that area please go leaf peeping for me! And I will happily swoon/be jealous over all the pictures. I’ll hope to find some colorful leaves up in the mountains to get my fix this year – but wherever you live, make the effort to go see some of the beautiful fall foliage.

Plan a spontaneous road trip

If it’s a Thursday night and you’re thinking of weekend plans – go explore a new city/town close by! You can camp, book a hotel or Airbnb, and just enjoy the weekend.

Have a fall movie marathon

Call those notorious Sanderson Sisters – from Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Beetlejuice, You’ve Got Mail, or one of my faves, Remember the Titans to scary movies like Insidious, Halloween, Scream, The Shining, Paranormal Activity, or the many never-ending lists. So grab a bowl of popcorn (sprinkled with pumpkin spice seasoning) and light your favorite fall candle, and cozy up with a new blanket for a fun or spooky night.

What else should be on this bucket list for fall? I am always looking for new and festive ideas!
