The Top Places I Want to Travel After Quarantine

Does anyone else spend their free time dreaming of where they will next travel to? I’ve always had a case of wanderlust and now it seems to be worse than ever. Here are the top places I want to travel to after quarantine and when travel restrictions have been lifted.

Wanderlust Dreams

Santorini, Greece

Santorini, Greece

Greece has been on my bucket list since I was in middle school and read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, then when it came out as a movie I saw (not only imagined) how beautiful it was and still to this day…I’d love to visit. Santorini is known for its beautiful architecture, beaches, and of course amazing seafood. Greece is located in southeastern Europe and Santorini is located on the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. The picturesque white buildings, pink flowers, with unbeatable views of the sea have me hooked.

Napa Valley, CA

Napa Valley, CA wine cellar

If you know me..you know I love wine! It’s no surprise that Napa, CA is on this list. Napa Valley is just north of San Francisco and you can fly into either San Francisco or Oakland airports then drive ~ an hour north to get to Napa which makes it a very convenient destination. It’s known for its never-ending vineyards, amazing restaurants, and exquisite views. I can picture myself sipping wine (looking out for Annie or Hallie Parker) while nibbling on a charcuterie board without a care in the world.

Sri Lanka

Palm Trees in Sri Lanka

For a while now, I’ve been obsessed with Sri Lanka, and I get shocked results every time I talk about it. Sri Lanka is an island country in South Asia and I could stare at pictures all day. From the lush countryside to the blue beaches covered in palm trees. It’s a tiny island and nicknamed ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’ and I’ve seen amazing animals all over the island – from sea turtles to elephants to crocodiles they’ve got them all!

The Grand Canyon

The View of the Grand Canyon

I’ve heard that The Grand Canyon is one of those National Parks that everyone should see in their lifetime. I’ve seen so many pictures of the Grand Canyon and am always in awe of its beauty. There seem to be so many fun outdoor activities to do while at The Grand Canyon as well like hiking, horseback or burro riding, rafting, and swimming that all seem like visiting the Grand Canyon would be the perfect vacation.

Palm Springs, CA

Palm Springs, CA desert

I grew up going to Palm Springs, CA every weekend as a child to kickoff summer which is why it will always hold a special place in my heart. Palm Springs is a desert lined with endless palm trees and cacti. Summers in Palm Springs is a perfect 100 degrees + where you can spend all day in the pool. Between Palm Springs and Palm Desert, there are a variety of restaurants, shopping, resorts, and things to do to keep busy during your vacation. My favorite itinerary is to spend all day floating in the pool (insert cabana boy) and then go venture out downtown for dinner, drinks, and whatever else the night throws at you.

Cinque Terre, Italy

Views of cinque terre, italy

After I visited Tuscany, Italy & the Amalfi Coast last summer, I was hooked. Cinque Terre looks to be a lot like Positano, Italy with the building lining the cliffs and overlooking the water. The Italian culture, food, and wine are unlike any other. Cinque Terre is known to be a fishing village with delicious seafood and exceptional wines…what more do you need?!

Dublin, Ireland

Ireland

Being ¼ Irish, Ireland has been high on my travel list for years. I would love to see the Cliffs of Moher and the Giant’s Causeway, and I’m sure I could force myself to drink Guinness. Ireland also has beautiful castles all around the country which you don’t see in Southern California, not to mention the prehistoric and early medieval sites.

Hawaii

Pineapples in Hawaii

The endless palm trees, beautiful beaches, pineapples, and fresh ahi poke. I am craving all of that after being stuck inside for months and life not being the same. I would honestly go to any island of Hawaii and enjoy every second of it. I haven’t been since I was young and I think this could be the time to change that.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas Mexico Lovers Beach

Who doesn’t love a good trip to Cabo?! Margaritas, ceviche, mariachi all right on the ocean. One of the best resort cities is known for beaches, water activities, and nightlife. It’s the perfect weather, pretty much all year which lends itself nicely to whatever type of vacation you want to enjoy!

Your turn – where are you dying to travel to once the world opens back up again after quarantine because of COVID-19?
