Let’s jump into a resolution reset and get real about what we’re trying to achieve this year. I’m focusing on my overall wellness this year.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m more about New Year’s intentions than New Year’s resolutions. This is because I either feel like resolutions are wants, not plans, and they easily fall through and get pushed away, or people set unrealistic resolutions and set themselves up for disappointment and/or failure.
So this year, it’s official, I’m focusing on my overall wellness (health and body) and taking them into attainable bite-size chunks. Here’s how I’m taking my overall wellness goals and doing small things every day to achieve those goals. I recently got a few new products in my Babbleboxx that helped inspire me for these goals.
#1: Quit Weekday Alcohol
While I am not doing dry January or trying to completely stop drinking. I felt like during the holidays with all the parties and celebrations, I was drinking a lot more than I typically did. And then I was getting into the habit of getting home from work and pouring myself a glass (or two) of wine to unwind.
I’m turning to Monday Zero Alcohol Gin because it’s not only booze-free, but you can also make them fun + fancy to give yourself the feeling (and mimic the need to unwind) without the calories or the lag feeling the next morning. This gin has 0 calories, no carbs, zero sugar, is vegan, gluten-free, paleo and keto-friendly, and big-8 allergen-free, so you get all the flavors without the negative health effects.

#2: Stay organized + Write in my Journal Daily
I don’t know about you, but I’m type A to the core. I need to be organized and I need to have a plan to feel like my life is in order. I used to journal sporadically on the notes on my phone and leave myself little reminders there *trying* to stay organized, which never lasted.
There’s something about writing in a journal with fun and pretty colors that is so gratifying. With Zebra Pen Journaling Set: Mildliner Highlighter & Sarasa Clip Assorted 14pk, I find myself looking forward to my journaling time. I try to journal about things I need, for example, when I’m feeling overwhelmed write a to-do list and one by one go down the list to check things off and just focus on each individual thing rather than the overall list. I also have been trying to incorporate more gratitude into my life. I always try to end my journaling with 3 things that I’m grateful for that happened that day. It could be as simple as it was a bright, beautiful sunny day, it could be a lesson I was grateful I learned today or even something that someone I love did today that made me feel grateful.
#3: Eat Healthy
Dieting to lose weight is to cliche for a New Year’s resolution, right? If you focus on eating healthier overall, it’s easier to stick with it long-term instead of yo-yo dieting with whatever trending’s fad diet is telling you. Focusing on eating all your fruits and veggies is so important to give your body all the vitamins and minerals it needs.
I’ve been adding this Beetology‘s 100% organic cold-pressed juice into my daily routine. I drink it about an hour before lunch and it holds me over and helps me not to overeat. You get all the health benefits of juicing, without having to juice yourself. Beetology is all-natural ingredients with no preservatives, additives, artificial colors, or flavors and they’re all under 110 calories.
#4: Be Mindful of What I’m putting into my Body
This goes hand in hand with eating healthy, but taking it one step further and realizing what your body needs, and listening to it. I’m trying to incorporate more proteins into my day-to-day without adding more meat to my diet. This is why I was so excited when I tried (and loved) Shaklee. I love both their Collagen-9 and Life Shake Soy Protein – French Vanilla is so easy to add into your daily routine.
The Life Shake Soy Protein gives a great vanilla flavor to anything it’s added to which is why I love it in the afternoons for the midday slump or after lunch when you’re craving something sweet. It’s great to mix with almond or soy milk and pour over ice to get an iced coffee, without getting an iced coffee. I’ll also mix it into a smoothie, my favorite is spinach, strawberries, and blueberries, which gives it a little sweet taste.
The Collagen-9 is unflavored so I will add it straight to the water I drink in the morning or my coffee. It’s great because it mixes in easily, without any chunks. And just like that, without doing anything extra you’re getting 9 essential amino acids, 10 g of collagen, and a combination of biotin and vitamin C.
#5: Focus on Self Care Daily
If you know me, you know one of my favorite aspects of self-care is skincare. During winter my skin gets so dry with the dry cold or spending so much time in the heat. Since trying Tree Hut’s Vitamin C Whipped Shea Body Butter, it’s safe to say I am addicted. It’s thick and creamy, plus it smells heavenly. I put it on as I’m getting ready for bed at night, it’s a great addition to my nighttime routine and helps calm me to get an extra good night’s sleep. Then I wake up with soft and moisturized skin.
