The New Bikini Brands I’m Shopping This Summer

It’s that time of year again – my favorite time of year – SUMMER and swimsuit season has arrived. While most of us will probably not be going on all the summer vacations we’ve long dreamed of hopefully some closer to home destinations coming to you, even if that’s just a blow-up pool. I’m per the usual obsessed with getting new swimsuits for summer and of course, I’ve already gotten a head start. Let’s make sure you feel confident and look amazing while rocking your new suit, even if it’s just in your backyard.

Swimsuit Trends for 2020

My roundup will include everything from your big name to your small local shop that is flattering on every body type. I’ll give you some sustainable suits to teeny triangles with cheekier bottoms, high waisted and retro-inspired, one-pieces

Ray of Light Swimwear

Ray of Light was “inspired by the strength of the Sun and its ability to warm, illuminate and energize us, making us feel our best and brightest.” How awesome is that! I forgot how much I loved a good string ‘kini that makes the try-on unnecessary because you can tailor the size to what you need.

Santos Swim

Santos Swim is totally a subtle, laid-back style just like where they’re based in San Diego as a small family-run business. Inspired by Bali where each suit is ethically made, Santos Swim is a globally-conscious swimwear brand made with 78% ECONYL® regenerated nylon. This material is made primarily from ghost fishing nets and other nylon waste. None of the waste, but all of the style. Not to mention how (their Canggu Triangle Set/ this suit / this style) in particular, is reversible so you’re getting 2 in 1!

Ele Swimwear

If you want to know what Ele Swimwear is like, just imagine a one-Piece Swimwear with the High-Rise, think 90’s and Baywatch combined and you have this awesome one piece. They sell the type of suits that gave me instant Hawaii vacation vibes. Ele is also local to Encinitas, CA just north of San Diego and designed to be cute and trendy in, but also be able to be active in.

Moana Bikinis

No one does bikinis quite like the Australians. Moana is all about empowering and motivating everyone and encouraging self-confidence. Their kinis are cheeky and bright give off those cool-girl vibes.

Target

Can you beat Target…anything? NO! I love their variety of all shapes and styles that are perfect for anything from lounging to playing beach volleyball. Target is pro at making their bikinis flattering on every single body type too.

L*SPACE

L*Space is the definition of on-trend with a variety of styles for every color/pattern they offer. They’re a sun-kissed California brand who creates kinis you want to live in. With every color you’d dream of and the patterns of your dreams…the hardest part is choosing which one to go with.

LILIKOI Paia Maui

So LILIKOI Paia Maui isn’t actually a brand – but more of a surf shop located in Hawaii! I love them because 1. They’re a small business and I think it’s so important to support small businesses right now and 2. They carry so many cute brands, like MAI Underwear which I absolutely love. It’s great to find a wide variety in one spot! How can you go wrong with this floral cheeky kini?! I agree you can’t.

Midori Bikinis

A very cute Bikini local to San Diego. Picture taken on Nantucket.

As many of you may know, I have been a Midori fan for a few years now. I will say they are hands down the best bikinis that fit me…I have huge hips (there I said it) and a lot of bikinis can hug my hips at just the right (or actually wrong) place to give me muffin top. NOT FLATTERING!!! But these bikinis hug at just the right spot to make my hips look not as huge while still giving me a figure. I love how they fit, and how cheeky they are, just the right amount. Women owned with this motto: “Other women are not my competition. I stand with them, not against them.” What’s not to love? I’m sure you’ve seen me post about them on my Instagram…here, and here, and here, and here.

Plus in case you haven’t seen on my Instagram, I’m a HUGE FAN of a boyfriend fit button-up white top. Seriously, what’s more, perfect than something you can wear over a tank/bralette on a cool summer night or over a bikini as a cute beach cover-up and throw on some shorts? 100% love it (check it out) because I am HERE FOR IT. Also, I’m a firm believer that you can never go wrong with a wide-brimmed hat, just like the one I have here. Not to mention a kimono to throw or a suit with some shorts!
